Default Waves plugin and mouse causing CPU spikes

Hello
I am using protools hd - cptkt (10.3.8) on mac 10.8.5 and some waves v9 plugins.
When tweaking fastly waves parameters with the mouse (Renaissance eq for example but not only) I almost always ended up with CPU hits causing 6101 and 9128 errors.
When tweaking the same parameters with artist control, everything is fine.
Also, I do not even need to tweak parameter, only moving the mouse very fastly on the waves plugin parameters interface causing CPU hits.
Looks like a graphic issue I cannot understand.
Using a raedon 4870 graphic card on macro 4.1.
Anybody had experienced this or has an idea ?
Thank you very much
Simon

Is this mouse wired or wireless? If wireless, what happens with a wired mouse?

Hey Simonyeah,

I am Gitai from Waves, just came in and saw your post.

I would need some information so I can better assist you.

Did you contact Waves tech Support?

Have you tried using a wired mouse?

Are you using more than 2 monitors?

Are you using WACOM by any chance?

Let me know and I will check it out.

STILL haven't done anything about that "anti-multi-monitor" ploy, eh?

I've had this same issue for over a year now. Same setup. Radeon 5770, osx 10.8.5, pt hd 10.3.8. When usin most waves plugs, ssl, api ect and mousing over the plugins there are massive cpu spike which cause playback to stop. Bug is constantly repeatable. I'm really upset this is still a problem

Did you ask tech support? Had another graphics issue with Waves (but not with a mouse), Waves tech support sorted it out pretty fast (graphics adapter driver was a problem.

This has to be a bit of a weird bug.

I have occasionally noticed on my last machine the mouse not updating properly and "jumping" across the interface, but all is good when it goes outside the frame again. No idea if there were any spikes however, I didn't think to look.

But I do think it maybe a Radeon cars as well, will have to confirm the version.

Oh and I use the standard Mac Bluetooth mouse.

Gitaifromwaves, if you are from Waves would you be able to tell us if this may be a Radon CUDA thing??

They're constantly releasing updates for it all the time, so perhaps updating CUDA may help??

Is this one of the reasons for the screen freeze bug and CPU spikes in 11.2.2?
I use a Logitech wireless trackball and never thought it was an issue.

Just for my "brain bank"...

Did you have to go with the latest driver, or did you have to roll-back to a previous version.

Thanks...
