Default Digi 002r MIDI I/O shows \"(No Channels Activated)\"

I have trashed prefs, run OSX Audio/MIDI setup, repaired disk permissions etc. Also I have re-installed PT 6.1 over the original but still I have this message on the Digi 002r MIDI ports in LE (my Midiman Oxygen 8 is fine). Any ideas?

Did you install the core audio drivers? If so, I remember something about those drivers disabling MIDI. You may want to check into that possibility.

Hi Stephen,

Same thing happened to my setup: DIGI001, OSX, PT 6.1

Some midi bug or whatever had deactivated all channels in the midi-setup of my XP-50 keyboard.

In Pro Tools, open your midi-studio-setup, double-click on the affected midi device, in the dialog box
click on the 'more info' tab, - now you can activate/deactivate any/all in- and outgoing midi channels
of the chosen device. Quite smart really, since in this way you can distribute the 16 midi channels of a single I/O midi connection across several devices.

I also uninstalled the Digidesign Audio Core Driver, thats reported to invalidate the onboard midi connection of DIGI001 (possibly DIGI002 too?), and reinstalled the original Pro Tools MIDIDRIVER.

Hope this solves your problem!

I did not install the Core Audio drivers as these aren't ready for the 002/002r systems yet.

I highlighted all of the channels under "Edit MIDI Studio Setup" and mysteriously they appeared again in Pro Tools. What is strange is that the Oxygen 8 is still working as before with no channels highlighted at all (as default). I previously logged a call with Digidesign TS so let us see what they come up with. Many thanks for getting me running again!
