Try re-installing Guitar Rig 4 and when the standalone folder comes up, chose the Programs (x86) folder. That may get you running.
You deserve these kudos a second time....

BENONI, DUDE YOU ARE A GENIUS!!

Sure enough, while I didn't put the GR4 (64 bit) into the Program (x86) directory, I did install an older version GR3 (32Bit) which did go there and the results are simply ahwsome.

If you are ever in ChiTown you let me know, I own you a tall cold one.

I feel so underrepresented as a sound supervisor who plays with footsteps more than drum tracks :<

Oh musicians... how I envy you

Anyway, I'll post up here when I build the new i7 for W7!

For anyone out there interested as to whether the M-Audio 64 bit beta firewire drivers work or not on Win 7 x64 - they do. I've also tested the x64 beta drivers for delta cards, Audiophile 192, (PCI) and they work too.

So...from a cursory perpective, the M-Powered group can move right along. I have an 1814 and PTMP 8.0.1 running without issue at this point. I will do more testing as time permits.

I'm still waiting on Digi to release x64 drivers for the 002r before I try that.

How do you change the firewire to legacy mode? I'm having the same bluescreen issue during installation of Pro Tools 8 on my Windows 7 Home Premium + 002 set up.

Thanks,
DK

For system sound plug a pair of PC speakers into the light green input on the back of your PC, unless you want a surrond sound setup, then plug in what is necessary.

The compatibility part is the part I was not 100% on if it was necessary, it wont hurt anything though, which is why i put it in the vid.

You say you DO NOT have IE8? What do you have? Unless you have Structure LE or Full, and/or Hybrid you need to leave IE8 on there. In fact im am going to suggest that you INSTALL IE8, uninstall PT. Reinstall it (8.0) go to www.ilok.com and get the newest ilok drivers. Install the PT 8.0.1 update and see if that works. Also be sure you are launching PT with the Right Click, Run as Admin.
Thanks for the help. I feel I wasted my time with this system if Digi can't even get wave drivers for Windows 7. I'll just stick with XP, or move to an interface that could keep up with time.

Honestly, I've always found the Wave drivers for windows and even the Core audio for mac (esp. quicktime/itunes) to be finicky at best anyway. I run my system and entertainment audio off of my Presonus Firebox. My Mbox 2, Firebox, onboard audio, and macbook audio all run into a little mixer. Gives me more control over sourcing, as well as a quick reference if I want to hear some kind of EQ or verb on a sound effect without loading up pro tools, since I don't have the space for a PT rig and then an "other" rig. It just feels a bit more modular, and not relying on the Wave drivers is great

Hello my friends,

First off, beautiful thread... focused and useful.

I am running (or trying to) PT 8.0.1 on Windows Ultimate 64, 003 firewire. I am running as administrator in Vista sp 2 mode. The program is up but does not run. "Problem detected with audio clock" which is set to internal. I have read through this thread and others. If the solution is staring me in the face, I have not seen it. So.. how do I work around or tweak to fix this (oh it seems so close) I'm tired of the dual boot. Below is a Sandra and thanks in advance for knowledge and help!

Forgot to mention (#79 above) Firewire is set to legacy. The Sandra tips mention ".NET Framework 1.1 is not installed. Install to run legacy .NET applications." This is a bit out of my league. Is it relevant?

Gracias
