Default Protools LE 6.1 & Windows 2003 Server All Editions

For the last 8 months or so, I've been running Protools on Windows 2K3. I've waited to work out the bugs with the O.S. and Protools before posting. So I can be helpful for those who needed it.

Windows 2K works on the same kernel XP does. But because 2k3 is a server O.S. its been optimized so it don't become unstable then crash.

Im running Protools LE 6.1 (MBOX) on the following system:

Windows 2003 Standard Server Edition
2 Pentium III 750Mhz Processors
105 Gig Ultra SCSI 3 Hard Disks (RAID to O)

Talk about services bloat, what a mess . How I miss the lightweight NT4 back in the day.

Sorry but noone should be using that OS with a DAW, keep it simple.

>yep..I do totally agree. I am still using two NT4/sp6 workstations with WaveLab 3.04 running.
They are like rock, my man...
PTLE needs to be on XP, so...fine. Hardware is cheap, one just have to build a new box for it.

cheers,
