Re: Avoid POWERLOGIX upgrades...they SUCK
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know who makes the OWC upgrade processors for OWC?

Re: Avoid POWERLOGIX upgrades...they SUCK
Mux...sorry to hear da' bad news. I was warned about those (Powerlogix DUAL cards) from TWO OF the OWC guys! It wasn't actually a warning just a word of caution! I drove to OWC to get my card (Hour and a half ride)!!! They said the most reliable of all of them were A. Giga & B. theirs. Of course they'll say theirs right...ha ha ha.
Powerlogix single processor upgrade cards got the thumbs up though! I ended up getting a OWC 1.4Ghz card .....get 26(I think it was...maybe 25?) tracks on the davec test and 32 track sessions with 8 auxes. and tons of plug-ins are no problem!

Re: Avoid POWERLOGIX upgrades...they SUCK
I disagree, I've had a powerlogix 1.2ghz upgrade in my machine for over 6months now. I couldn't be happier. It took me about 5mins to install the processors, no software, just plug in and go. No problems what so ever. and compared to my old 466 processor, I'm flying now!
I'm a totally happy powerlogix user. Are you positive you had a compatible machine, was you firmware up to date, compatible OS, etc.?

Re: Avoid POWERLOGIX upgrades...they SUCK
After asking around on the DUC, I recently purchased the Giga Designs G-Celerator for $495. The unit came with a reasonably quiet, pre-installed fan, and jumpers for user-selectable speeds up to 1.5GHz. The jumpers were pre-set for the tested and approved 1.4GHz speed, and installation was a snap...perhaps the only TRUE plug'n'play I've ever encountered. No problems, so far.

Yes, yes, and yes. All confirmed by the PowerLogix customer support guy. See my second post a few up for all the details... Maybe it's just these new 7457 duals that suck, but regardless, it's been returned and I'm getting a GigaDesign chip. Hopefully that will work correctly.
