No Pan Control when opening old Session? I/O?

Hey all, thanks in advance.
I open a PT7 session in PT2021 - reset my I/O to current - select 'mono default format' but there's no pan control on all my audio tracks and what appears to have everything coming out of both left /right.

There are 9 session files from PT7 and 3 out of the 9 open this way - the other 6 are fine.

What silly thing am i missing?

I've seen missing PAN knobs when a track doesn't have an output. If you see outputs, I would assign all tracks to no output, then change to your desired stereo output path.

bigger questions is why is the I/O such a hassle ??? and why does my I/O not match what my patching options on the output channels?...etc.

seems this output is locked to a random mono channel (25) out putting to my default stereo out 31/32 - hence - no pan.

I tried your medicine and set to 'no output' and then re-instate, but no

any thoughts, i certainly appreciate!

Hmmm, Did this session come from another system? Does this happen with all sessions?

Assuming the correct device is selected as the "audio engine", open Setup>IO and start on the Bus tab. Look for duplicate names/paths(delete any duplicates). Scroll all the way down(looking at entries that have a green check) and make sure everything looks correct. Then hit the Output tab and look for similar.

I'm still confused by this:
reset my I/O to current - select 'mono default format' If you are outputting to mono, then there can't be any pan knobs. Make sure you are using a stereo output. Hopefully, something here will help(of course, trashing prefs is an option too)

Once again Albee, thank you. I always forget to clear the Bus and there was a wacky 'Mono-25 Output -> Main Stereo Out!

And yes, i get confused on the Mono/Stereo format and had that reversed as well. I all good now and you are always on in! Thanks mate
