There are several reasons why Native users might be forced to put PT11 in the trash can. Ongoing bugs affect many people. I can't use it at home and neither can any of my company's studios.

Then it is on all platforms...even more strange that the beta testers didnt see this...
Maybe it is a planted bug to force us to upgrade to PT11
At the moment except for this bug...I think I will stay on 10 forever , or if they plan to do a TDM shell for PT11 as Emagic did with their TDM Bridge for Logic Pro.

10 on TDM hardware for me as well here. HDX and 11 are nowhere near ready for primetime, in my book at least. I have an HDX system gathering dust that I wish that I could utilize for the higher ADC and voice count. A dysfunctional glorified Native system is not at all useful to me. Not a great outlook for the pro record making workflow, at this point at least.

As I've posted earlier I have the same issue here.

My question is about downgrading to PT 10.3.8. For anyone who's had to do this I just want someone to clarify the process. You need to officially UNINSTALL PT 10.3.9 with the official PT 10.3.9 uninstaller first, and then instal 10.3.8 fresh correct? You can't simply install 10.3.8 OVER 10.3.9?

Also, assuming this is correct will I need to then re-install every plug in I own (which are many!)? I've obviously only ever UPGRADED my software. I never thought I'd need to DOWNGRADE

If this is true this is going to be a real pain in my arse. AVID Please help with a fix!

And to anyone reading this please verify if this is true, and I guess I'll start to do it, although I do have an old cloned startup drive with 10.3.2 installed that might be easier to upgrade from.

I did the downgrade with no problem. If you uninstall 10.3.9, you aren't installing over it....I didn't remove plug ins or anything, and it works fine.

Sorry guys, I hate to sound dumb. I just want to do this correctly, and while I VERY MUCH appreciate your responses to my post, I just wasn't exactly sure what you were saying.

Yes you do, uninstall 10.39 there are options when u run the uninstaller that says something like - do u plan to reinstall or are you removing the software forever......

Then reinstall 10.3.8

The actual wording of the choices are - Safe Uninstall or Clean Uninstall. The Safe Uninstall is what has worked for the previous poster. That is the choice that will most likely work just fine for you. Neither of these choices actually remove plugins or anything other than the actual Pro Tools app. The clean Uninstall just removes a few extra under the hood components.
