Exclamation Pro tools did not shut down correctly!

Hi everyone

ok here goes, I was recently working on a session which I've been using xpand alot. Now when I close the session it shuts down fine but when I try to load pro tools again it tells me pro tools did not shut down properly last time you need to restart windows.

I have trashed my prefs but it still happens this is the first prob I've had with pt9. While I was working in this session a few days ago before this problem existed. The session just locked up and closed out of the blue.

Has anyone else had this prob and know how to fix it

thanks

Just installed 9 and am getting the same issue. It was not happening on the initial install but has started after installing MOTU midi drivers and adding Pro Control.

I tried the 9.0.1 update, still same. Trash prefs, still same, unistall/reinstall still same. By the way this it an HD9 system I see you are running 003.

Is the problem session specific? Or is it happening on all sessions? Tried Import Session Data... into a new session?

Is your Xpand2 library in the default location or on another drive?

I've had this happen in a couple of sessions. The latest I attributed to something going awry with a plugin or a routing problem when I adapted a larger project to a smaller alt version, removing auxes, tracks, etc.

The ProTools.exe process wasn't shutting down, preventing launching ProTools again. Force quit would not work. Shutting down Win7 caused a BSOD/dump everytime.

I imported the tracks and full config from that session into a new session and all is well. Apparently it is a session corruption issue. I would import into a new session and see if that solves it.
