aux bus headroom
Hey peoples. Heres a question that may be common sense, but I need to know regardless. Does anyone know if a stereo AUX bus and the master fader in LE have the same amount of headroom? The reason i ask is because I'm mixing in subgroups to enable me to mix different tracks to different compressors within a session. So basically I'm sending rhythm tracks to a bus and hitting them with a certain compressor that I really like to use for pump and thickness, and it doesnt get hit too hard because the vocals are going elsewhere and I feel like it gives me a little more control. If someone could help me out with the math on the aux vs. 2 bus thing would be my friend for life. Thanks ya'll.

Re: aux bus headroom
All my tests have led me to conclude that the Aux busses and the Output busses are identical under LE -- they both use 32 bit floating point math.
The difference would be that the resolution is reduced to the session bit resolution post the master fader.. while it isn't reduced post the Aux master fader. Rail
