Default AVIDs Website is the most confusing site I have ever browsed

Today, I really took the time to dig in the site as I wanted to get to know it.

I have just recently learned to cut video on Premiere Pro CS5 which was not all that difficult but not too easy.

It is with a HEAVY heart that I had to manifest that learning Premiere Pro CS5 was a 'stroll in the park' compared to 'learning' AVID's website.

Learning AVID's website is just about as confusing as their Media Composer 5.
AVID-Logic, at least in my part of the world, has got nothing to do with well ehhh LOGIC.

Has AVID or used-to-be-digidesign completely forgotten about their current client base???? I was searching for Massive Pack 4 updates for PT8 but Massive Pack with or without quotes gave me nothing but Instrument Pack results.

I'm heading over to URS to upgrade to the full versions now. I just dont have the energy left over to browser a website as confusing as that. And it goes without saying that I have purchased my LAST massive pack. It seems as if Digi or AVID cares little about supporting those packs in the future. And the vendors incorporating their plugs in to those packages WANTS NOTHING to do with supporting their own product. My My My....

What a shame !

The only good thing I've found so far is that you no longer have to provide a login and password to access downloads. Otherwise, the number of clicks to access what you want is nearly double what it should be.

yes
helping a friend move over from logic,.. very pro engineer/producer.. I told him to watch the phil jackson pt8 videos as a way in...
but where the f-- are they?
finally found one but once your there theres no list of all of them..
Aphid should be getting a better entry level [and even 10yr +!!] users navigation.
since logic has been thrown under the ipad bus, PT should at least give a sense of a human face on their site.. not that hard... and hey you might increase revenue from the GC beginners

-my milage never varies

Hopefully the Avid site is not an indication of how 'intuitive' they'll try to make PT in the future.

AVIDs website perfectly reflects Avid Media Composer 5.
I tested it after getting spammed with their ad. Just as confusing as their site...

I think AVID should grab hold of a couple of digi folks and have them revamp their Not-So-State-Of-The-Art Video App... And then have Apple do their website.

Digi's site was great for New users as well as current users. AVIDs new site seems to be wanting to target the consumer market. BIG TIME

I have to agree that Avid's site is the worst site I have ever had to navigate.

Not only that, they deleted all the previous links to downloads and support docs.

Maybe they could put up a wordpress page until the current site is functional?

Listen Avid, these guys are not exaggerating. You need to get rid of your web company. This site design is a failure.
