Hard Drive Upgrade for Powerbook
I would like to upgrade my 5400rpm internal hard drive on my G4 Powerbook 1.67 Ghz, 2GB ram, before I purchase the Music Production Toolkit. I bought an internal drive, but it wouldn't load so I had to send it back. Any recommendations on a good 7200rpm (8mb cache preferred) internal ATA drive for a Powerbook? I also have an external firewire 800 Maxtor drive (300GB, 7200rpm, 16mb cache) that works wonderfully. Should I maybe buy another one of those and boot from it?

Re: Hard Drive Upgrade for Powerbook
Ronjai,
I installed this Hitachi drive the same day I purchased my G4 1.5 G powerbook in January 2005. It's worked perfectly ever since. I've partitioned it with a couple of different versions of OSX, works great. Note that the bottom of the laptop can get pretty toasty with the bigger drive. - John

Re: Hard Drive Upgrade for Powerbook
I second the Hitachi. I put a 7K100 in my Pismo, and it rocks. I had to put my ear up to the keyboard to tell if it was spinning, and head seeks are only audible in a very quiet room.
