Default Digi002 died?!?! Please help!

Ahhh!!! All of a sudden PT saya it cant communicate with the 002 and now the 002 will not "boot"! WTF? I turn it on and I get all blank scribbles, the mute is on and the faders are "stuck" in position. I can move them but the go right back to position and I can't turn any buttons on or off.

VERY uncool now that I have to cancel a session today. What the hell? Anyone else have this? Is there a "RESET" on the 002? Please help. Thanks.

Eric

Maybe you need the firmware update?

What Does This File Do?

This new Digi 002 Controller file will update the fader firmware to V105a inside of Digi 002.
This Firmware Version Resolves the Following Issues:

Changes the way the Digi 002 powers up to eliminate a possible long-term reliability issue with the fader motors.
Alleviates some cases where the scribble strips display random characters at startup and the firmware fails to initialize .

I already did that the other day. It has worked since then so I am am pretty sure that I can rule that out as a potential problem. Thanks for the tip though.

Anyone else? grrr..

One of many reasons I do not test new hardware or software on paying clients.

Sorry for your troubles, contact digi tech support monday, or if your dealer is open today see about a replacement unit.

Sometimes 1394 cables or connectors go bad. What does the unit do when powered up with no connection to the PC? Have you tried reseatigng the 1394 adapter card? Is the adapter card working correctly according to Windows Device Manager?

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Good luck,
Mark

I have checked the card and the cables and everything is fine except the 002. It does the same thing when powered up disconnected from everything else.

Lucky for me it is my cousin's band so they are at least understanding about it.

I got this from Sweetwater so tomorrow will have to be the day I get this taken care of. It just bums me out to have spent this kind of money on something that lasted a week. I hope it is a fluke.

Thanks guys.
