2019.5- Mac Pro (trashcan) and Mojave
I would like to update my Mac Pro (trashcan) to Mojave. The new Final Cut Pro X requires it and has some things I want.
I use the same machine for ProTools I currently have High Sierra and the slightly older version of ProTools (18.12) But I’m having trouble finding out what all I need to update to use the 2019.5 (or .6) of PT. Do Plug-ins need updates? (I can’t seem to find that info). Thanks for any help. Mark

Re: 2019.5- Mac Pro (trashcan) and Mojave
The ones that come with PT are updated with the PT upgrade. Paid Avid plugins need to be installed separately, you can find the installers from your Avid Account. Any 3rd party plugin you may have need to be checked from the vendor themselves.

Re: 2019.5- Mac Pro (trashcan) and Mojave
We cannot guess what plugins you have, and what exact versions are installed.
You generally will want to be running the latest plugins from each vendor. So start there. More importantly however is how you plan on doing, testing, and possibly rolling back from this upgrade. And an in-situ macOS major upgrade is not a good idea. Much better to do a full clean install of Mojave onto a external SSD or spare partition in the internal SSD (if you have enough space to make one). And either way make sure you have a bootable clone image (e.g. using Carbon Copy Cloner, not Time Machine) available on an external drive, and test it boots and works OK before you start. Re: 2019.5- Mac Pro (trashcan) and Mojave
I run it and I had a couple of things early on but I mostly worked it out. I did get cpu crashes occasionally which I have not seen in a long time. The one thing with Mojave is to pay attention to adding things in accessibility. I remember I think you had to do this with mic to get inputs. Forget the exact thing but it was like really why? Just search for it.
