Default HD Video Solution

Is there a video solution provided by Avid, Digidesign (or anyone) that addresses HD (and SD) video work flow in an environment with the Avid Unity Network?

All components listed in both system configs are the exact same, unless noted otherwise.

************************************************** *************
Previous config:
Computer running Pro Tools 7.2 with Unity 4 installed and on a Unity 4 network; a V10 for video and Media Station |PT. This configuration worked for SD video only. My understanding is that Digidesign and Avid are NOT supporting the V10 and its HD expansion port.

Computer:
HP workstation XW8200, Dual Intel Xeon 3.4 GHz with 2 GB RAM, running Windows XP Professional SP2

Digidesign Gear:
D-Command
XMon
Sync I/O
192
V10

Software:
Pro Tools 7.2
Avid Unity 4
Media Station | PT 1.8.2
************************************************** *************

************************************************** *************
Current config:

Computer:
HP workstation XW8200, Dual Intel Xeon 3.4 GHz with 2 GB RAM, running Windows XP Professional SP2

Digidesign Gear:
D-Command
XMon
Sync I/O
192

Software:
Pro Tools 7.3.1cs2
Avid Unity 5
************************************************** *************

The basic problem -

Pro Tools 7.3 is not compatible with Media Station | PT, and the V10 is not compatible with HD video.
The reason we upgraded to 7.3 is that Unity 5 is not compatible with 7.2.

Bottom Line:
Is there a HD video solution for Pro Tools 7.3 on an Avid Unity Network running Unity 5? Or for that matter, is there ANY HD video solution for Pro Tools that you can actually buy and that actually works?

Thanks -

jeremiah

Or is there even a way to still use the V10 in the SD environment on Unity 5 running Pro Tools 7.3?

Is there anybody successfully working with Unity 5 and Pro Tools?

Thanks - jeremiah

I think it will in Pro Tools 7.4. I know for sure that Avid ISIS will be compatible as well. Also in 7.4 They have the Media Station|PT Satellite option, which means that you will have another computer to run all of the video chores, but I think you will have to do it all in SD.

Actually, reading the manuals, you can watch HD if you use Quicktime movies. Make sure you have the timecode on it though.
