Re: connecting a patchbay to fast track ultra 8r
as far as connecting the lexicon via s/pdif, I tried it and I cannot get it to work, I set the lexicon to digital bit it will not connect it says the sample rate is 48000 and the lexicon is 41000 it just won't work. I also set protools to except s/pdif and then the sample rate is fixed to 48000. The lexicon will not read digital lock. Im giving up.

Re: connecting a patchbay to fast track ultra 8r
I need more midi ports, I'm using a m-audio fast track ultra 8r, is there a way I can use a midisport 4x4? or? I want to connect my mackie mcu and extender so I will need 2 midi in's and 2 midi out's. I only have 1 in and 1 out on the ultra 8r.

Re: connecting a patchbay to fast track ultra 8r
Yes, you can add an extra USB MIDI interface with no problem. Unlike audio devices, MIDI devices can stack easily without excessive computer tweaking by the user.

Re: connecting a patchbay to fast track ultra 8r
Will it have to be m-audio because I'm running PT 9mp?
Thanks |

Re: connecting a patchbay to fast track ultra 8r
MIDIsport 4x4 is great, if you get one with the metal chassis. I've had one of those yellow 2x2 units bumping around my home studio for more than a decade, it just won't die. This one seems to have the same build quality: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIDISport4AE
