New Slate VCC Update!

For everyone who has experienced CPU issues with VCC, there is a new build update (Version 1.3) in the users area at Slate Digital. I've tested the new version out myself and the CPU usage has dropped dramatically. A previous session, which was peaking at 60% usage with 4 cores and 256 is now comfortably hovering at around 10% with 7 cores in the playback engine. No meter spikes at all.

Apparently, an e-mail blast will be going out on Monday, but Steven dropped the news on Gearsultz just in case anyone wanted to have it for the weekend. I'm just passing along the good news! Here's the thread: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/produ...le-now-70.html

I really had my hopes up for this... I'm on a 8 core mac pro, (which was stated as being an excellent beneficiary of this update), Yet I've seen a minimal drop. 13 drum tracks all with slate on it set to N, one buss channel installed jumped my RTAS cpu go from 23 to almost 60%.

Not the improvement that I expected and hoped for.. Oh well... somewhat better is better than no improvement.

EDIT, in playing the track for any length, it jumps up and down from 60-78%... then PT craps out with a 6086 error. I think I'm going to roll back... In fairness, I have everything set to 8x oversampling.. but if it's not going to work there it's shooting itself in the foot a bit in my opinion..

Regarding 1.3.0

Also, When trying to "Save", It is not sticking. Save will not grey out. You can keep hitting Command S and it will not stick. I can reproduce this 100%. Load a new session with only VCC and hit save or command S.

Now deactivate the VCC's in the session. Save works correctly now.

Went back to 1.1.2 and Save works correctly.

Still getting some crashes when closing sessions as well.

When Mixbus plugin is open, CPU is spiking.

This thing is still not ready for primetime yet.

I too have been enjoying Satson. I was skeptical because it was so cheap, but hey, why shouldn't it be.

There are some new updates coming in the next few days that are pretty cool.. CPU usage has dropped a bit, quite a bit for some folks, and some of the features that had been a bit wonky are getting sorted. Also, Steven has said that the next release will serve the 64 bit crowd as well! (not function in 64 bit but actually be 64 bit). Good news for some of you.

It's still a nice program.

The new 1.3.5 update is available and reduces CPU up to 50%.. its also 64bit and rock solid. Took a bit of work but we finally got this puppy acting nicely.

Drive the Brit N till the lows start to thicken up and smile.

That's a little harsh .....
I love his stuff - it's more tools in the toolbag. The VCC is not subtle it adds a very nice and needed tonality, especially to drum and live bass tracks.
