Default Budget restoration solution

Hello!

Im looking at a budget solution to take care of simple problems.
Mostly stuff like guitar buzz in DI recordings etc.

Waves or Izotope solutions are too expensive, alternatives I find under a 100USD are :

1. Wavelab essentials comes bundled with sonnox restoration suite (denoise/clip/buzz.) While this would require me to do all corrections outside of PT, it will bring its own added benefits such as CD authoring etc.

2. Acon digital restoration suite. Denoise/hum/clip/click. AAX compatible. Will work within PT, but is it better or of equal quality as the Sonnox suite ?

Kindly advise.

Regards,
Sidhu

My vote would be for Wavelab for the reason you mention. My cure for hiss and high-frequency noise on guitars is usually to insert the EQ III 1-band eq, set it for lo-pass with the frequency at 20K, and automate the frequency. Whenever the guitar plays a sustained sound(and hiss or buzz creeps in), I set the frequency to slide down to eliminate the highs as needed.
