That's why I haven't included the m40 in the list for possible display type.

Technically that's called a touch pad; when I saw the words 'mouse pad' I was going like there's not enough room for one. Good idea though.

A S3S with a jog/shuttle, touchscreen-with-knobs and some assignable keys module could tick all those boxes.

Touch pad great lets not forget this, these are great ideas

Sorry, but I hate the touch pad idea and I certainly don't think it should be built in like that. They did that on the Pro Control and it was horrible IMO.

Just have a removable front bolster so people can put their keyboard and mouse/trackball of choice up close.

A lot of the people I've seen using the artist series have them imbedded in their desk. My Artist mix is presently in the huge whole where my other controller was before it died out a couple of months ago. So having a removable bolster wont help in that regard. It may for those who just have their artists control sit on top of a desk but then at the same time they shouldn't have a problem with space for a mouse and keyboard. But those of us who are using desks that are made for a certain type of controllers won't benefit from that tray. The pad idea is more fitted for these situation. Although I hate pads myself lol.

Personally I'm still looking for a replacement for the artist mix as I find it rather limited in functionality, and the space I have is not big enough for both a control and mix, and the control is just too limited fader and knob wise for my use. One thing for sure, if we go for anything bigger than what I used to have here, then I will have to have a custom desk made again.
