I should be able to answer a few of your questions:

This upgrade definitely contains new firmware, and of course a corresponding Pro Tools update for the new amps and FX GUIs.

The Custom Distortion model is loosely based on a Rat pedal (Op Amp clipping followed by diode clipping), but with major tweaks to make it sweeter sounding and more versatile. Hopefully you guys will dig it.

It's correct that we don't have a JC120 based amp model, but we do have a cab based on the JC120. We certainly wanted to do the amp, but we felt that the cab worked really well with some of the existing amps, and that it would be very useful to have on it's own, even if we didn't have time to do the amp. In particular, the Modern Clean amp works nicely with this cab. It's probably closer to a JC than some actual models done by the competition! Just kidding, or not. I also find that most of the JC120 character comes from the cab. Anyhow, I can't wait to see how you guys like it.

Chris - thanks for the clarification, are you saying that ALL the new features list for the expansion pack will all be configurable via the 11R hardware?

And yes I can't wait......

All of the new features are available in standalone or with a PC. I think you'll find that although we weren't able to get to all of the top-tier requests, the Expansion Pack will greatly increase the possibilities with Eleven Rack.

We hit a good number of the top-tier items from ideascale and the DUC, and all of your input was key to making this update happen. Thanks everyone!

Of course, there were things we didn't have time for, but we did DOUBLE the number of amps and cabs, added a Stereo Dynamic Delay, Parametric EQ, clean compressor, Bass amps and more...and our team is committed to delivering on as many of the remaining requests as possible in a future update.

For now, enjoy all of the new tonal possibilities! I may be biased, but I really think that it's a very worthwhile update.

Enjoy the conference!

From http://www.harmonycentral.com/blogs/...ding-solutions

The Eleven Rack Expansion Pack, a software add-on option for Avid's award-winning Eleven Rack guitar amp and effects processor, provides a series of new features and enhancements to the system, including:
New guitar and bass amp effects emulations-deliver users an expanded sonic palette with 19 new guitar amp and effects emulations, including an all-new bass amp/cabinet simulation that invokes the sounds of legendary bass tones.
Parametric EQ and studio compressor channel strip effects-allow customers to easily capture vocal and instrument performances using new channel strip-style signal processing.
Dynamic stereo delay-provides customers more options to enhance their sound, create custom effects and widen their guitar tone with full ducking, panning and filtering control on delay feedback.
Speaker break-up emulation-re-creates the natural distortion characteristics heard when turning up an analog amp with speaker breakup emulation added to all amps.

Here we go!

Edit: Just wanted to say that you guys nailed the content for the upgrade, IMO. The only thing I don't see that I wanted was user IR slots, but the addition of extra cabs (along with everything else) should definitely serve their purpose! Thank you Avid, now hurry up and release this thing!! :)

Edit #2: Looks like it's all already in this thread, I slept in a little too hard. :)

Software Add-on ?

Woudn't the right definition be: "Copy Protected Firmware"

What I'm asking is:
Is the Expansion Pack fully operationnal in a Standalone configuration (No PC) ?

Fab,

P.S: Gonna Buy it anyway
