Cleaning the Surface of a Control 24

Does anyone have a real good method of keeping their Control 24 surface clean? Especially around the command buttons 'go to start' for example. The last thing I want to do is make the dis-colorization worse.

Appreciate any good info . . .

Swiffer works great on my old 002 console....should be fine on your control 24

Also, I just keep a hand duster (one of those things that looks like a bottle brush. Works pretty good.

I only have a 002 but I throw a towel on it, the monitors, the keyboard and my Axiom61. Saves a lot of cleaning and dusting. I suppose it kinda of off topic but if it never gets dirty then you don't have to clean it.

I keep my control surface covered . . . dust is not the issue.

The cleaning that I'm talking about is around the 'buttons' where skin oil makes a stain on the silver coating of the surface. Obviously, something like '409' could permanently damage the board, so I thought maybe someone might have a trick or two up their sleeve.

Check out Simple Green, it's all natural but I still don't know if it will tarnish the buttons. Another is liquid air. I use that sometimes and the condensation is enough to wipe any dirt off. Last, some very light dish soap and water to thin it out, and put it on a very almost dry sponge, it might help.

I have several cans of Liquid Air. Never thought of the condensation as a wipe-able trick...
The diluted Simple Green w/ almost dry cloth/sponge sounds worth carefully trying also.

I'd stick with mild dish soap. Any of the 'natural' cleaners are gonna have Citric Acid, which is slightly corrosive.... slightly, but probably enough to take off the garbage ink Digi screened the Control 24 with.

I understand, yes, there is citric acid in some dish soaps too, just not as high of content as in the 'cleaners'. Dish soap is also a mild degreaser and should kill the body oils no problem.

You know, I may look into wet wipes as well. Not the individually packaged ones, but the flushable feminine wipes. Hmmmmmmmmm. Those should be pretty mild. Might work great. And if your studio is in the bathroom, you could just throw it over your shoulder into the crapper.

And, you can always wash your hands! LOL Sorry, had to! Ha. I'm such a jerk!
