Default Midi Control over Plug-in parameters help...

So I have an MPK49 that works using the old cs-10 template...It seems to arbitrarily pick which parameters it'll allow me to assign - e.g., I have two plugins from the same company fabfilter timeless and fabfilter twin - both have a midi learn function but only the twin allows me to assign the control - anyone have any ideas why this might be?

In Logic there's a proprietary mode that converts CC info into Logic control data so you can control almost any parameter even if the plugin itself doesn't offer it within the interface.

Any ideas?
