Default DAE error -1115

I just installed Pro Tools 6.1 on my laptop. But when I started Pro Tools I get 'DAE error -1115' and Pro Tools quit. I really don't know what to do anymore.

This is what I did:
- Installed Service Pack 1
- Disabled the onboard Network Adaptor
- Disabled the networkdriver from my 1394 adaptor
- DMA'd all IDE channels
- Configured Power Management to 'Always on'
- Selected 'adjust for best performance of background services' under the Processor scheduling section
- Selected 'system cache' under the memory usage section
- disabled all unnecessary items from system startup
- disables onboard audiodevice in BIOS
- Deselected all visual effects

My Cardbus controller, 1394 controller and USB controller are sharing IRQ 10, but it is impossible to change that in the BIOS or the 'Device Manager'.

Packard Bell Igo 2442:
- Processor: Mobile AMD Athlon 1400+
- Memory: 256 MB SD-RAM SO-DIMM (no ECC)
- Chipset: Via Twister KN133
- FSB: 200 MHz
- VT8362 North Bridge, VT8231 South Brigge
- S3 Graphics (32 MB Shared)
- Onboard AC97 Audio (disabled)
- Adaptec FireConnect AFW-1430 Firewire Cardbus

from the answerbase:

Quote:
On some Windows XP computers, if a DAE error -6096 or -1115 occur, or you experience random communication problems between Digi 002 and Pro Tools, try disabling "PCI to DRAM prefetch" in the BIOS Setup utility.

This can be found in the BIOS > Advanced > Chip configuration.

Wow you are pushing it with that system. Have you run PTLE on this laptop before? What hardware are you using, 002, 002r or MBox?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I have an 002r and I never used PTLE on this laptop.

The thing is, I just want to make some recordings on location and import that on my desktop. I guess 1.2 MHz should be enough for recording 8 tracks with maybe 1 or 2 plugins?

Here are some issues I see:
1.IRQ sharing issue, may not be important on XP
2.Old chipset that hasn't been proven with PTLE
3.Old SDRAM and lack of ram, 512MB min. recommended for 6.1.
4.Low speed processor

I'm not sure your computer has enough horsepower for driving PTLE. If you don't get this settled with Digi, I'd look at getting a newer more updated notebook. I think you can get a PTLE proven high powered Dell laptop now for around 1k.

I have the same problem on an IBM A Series laptop recommended by DigiDesign. I bought the laptop on account of DigiDesign's recomendations and find myself with a 002r that doesn't work. & pissed off. Nothing like getting let down on something of this magnitude.

I got a 1.6Ghz with 684MB ram - should be enough. I'm going to try and update the BIOS.

DAE -1115 is almost always firewire related... however, your RAM amount is way too low - 256 MB is NOT enough to run PT LE reliably. It doesn't meet the minimum specs recommended by Digidesign.

Sorry.
