Default Alesis SR-16 and PT 6.1

Ever since I have installed 6.1 my SR-16 is working like Sh@t. Any tips other users can give me? It's kind of going back and forth from good to bad. But I can't figure it out completely

What exactly to you mean? Are you trying to sync your SR-16? what are you trying to do, and what is happening exactly?

When I'm recording a midi track slaving the SR-16 to pro tools it works fine. When I play back a midi track in an old session it works fine. However, when building a new track in a new session if there's tempo changes, punch ins, etc it is very choppy, tempos wrong, sometimes there's no output at all. It worked like a champ in PT 5. Also i've noticed that the meter on the midi is almost always pegged out, whereas before in PT 5 it would move regularly like a normal fader. Basically the only way I seem to be able to make it work correctly is if I do it all in one pass which with a drum machine can be near impossible. As far as I know everything is setup exactly the way PT 5 was, but apparently not. Very bizarre. Other than this I have to say I'm pretty impressed with 6.1

I don't understand how PT 6.1 midi can be worse than PT 5 midi. I can't get hardly any of the features I had going with SR-16 in PT5 going in 6.1. All the complaining I did about OMS and now I want it back haha. I can't even finish some of my sessions becasue I can't get the midi to work properly. Pretty hard to mix with no drums. This is a very perplexing problem. I'll keep searching and reading but anyone with an opinion is appreciated

I'm not sure. I didn't think you could slave an SR-16 to PT and do tempo changes, etc and have the DM follow such things. I've only dumped midi to PT via Midi Time Clock and set my session the same tempo as my DM, then my session triggers the DM. I can't help ya.
