Nice that the two companies, Native Instruments and Waves, whose plugs I use the most are delivering on the AAX native promise.

Yes Waves AAX native fully covered under WUP, according to a Waves guy at their booth at NAMM.
He didn't want to give me a date, but said it should be released first half of this year.

This is fantastic news. Would be great if they (Waves...) would confirm this in their FAQ somewhere. But at least it gives me hope.

Hello. By the way, first half of the year is obviously by the end of the second quarter, which coincides with the rumor that Pro Tools 11 64 bit will be out by then (Summer NAMM). It would make a lot of sense for Waves to sit out the transition version Pro Tools 10 and go straight to AAX and Pro Tools 11 64 bit. As a matter of fact, when Pro Tools 64 bit drops, that will open up the floodgates for all plug ins to start coming down the pipe.

If I was a software developer I would have seriously considered sitting out the transition (PT 10) and waiting for 64 bit (PT 11). At best I wouldn't spend too many resources on something I would leave behind within a year.
