Feeding Radio Board into Pro Tools via Mac
I've been out of the loop with regard to the interface used to get an audio feed into Pro Tools. My last experience was with Pro Tools 7.
What I used to have was xlr out of the board into a Matchbox II, then 1/4" stereo jacks coming out of there into a Digi002 rack, then firewire 1394 into my Mac tower. I currently have Pro Tools 2018.4 on an iMac OS 10.4 with Thunderbolt 3 inputs. Same 1/4" jacks coming out of the board. As I have read and understand it, the 002 rack will no longer work. Or does it? What drivers and/or hardware do I need to get the audio feed into Pro Tools? iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Radeon Pro 570 4096 MB Thank you. |

It's worth a shot. Any idea how to get 1394 to thunderbolt 3? There are absolutely no adapters that go that far.

400–>800–>thunderbolt
It will work. Just install correct drivers. You could also use a Thunderbolt hub with FW800 on it and use 400 to 800 cable |

FW - TB2 adapter + TB2 - TB3 adapter. Not elegant, but it works and is the cheapest option if you can’t find a FW - TB3 adapter. Alternatively, get a TB3 dock with FW. This will also break out to a bunch of other connectors that you may find useful. Much more expensive than the adapters though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Feeding Radio Board into Pro Tools via Mac
This doesn’t make logical sense to me just to get FireWire capability. How many FireWire devices do you have?
A cable and two adapters will cost you about $60 to connect your 002. If you’re going to spend $385 just spend a little more for a new interface and ditch the 002. Or pay a little less for the thunderbolt hub and get more use out of it. https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/dock...E&gclsrc=aw.ds |

Yeah don’t get that chassis.
Either get a hub that will give you loads more ports than just FW, or get the adapters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
