So if i buy this monster and it only has TB3 and USB 3 ports and my interface is a Firewire 400, what is the best way to connect it? I'm not seeing any great options and I hear that a 400 to 800 cable with an 800 to TB1 adapter (which I am using now) with a TB1 to TB3 adapter does not work.

Bull patties. You hear what where? link? I hear folks saying the earth is flat...

Apple TB3 to TB dongle -> Apple TB to FW dongle -> FW800 to 400 cable. If that does not work suspect the FW800 to 400 cable first.

Or get a dock like the OWC TB3. (possibly handy for other reasons anyhow).

Or just get a Thunderbolt interface.

But it is flat, all ya gotta do is watch a ship sail out from the coast and at somewhere just past 9 miles, it falls off the edge and disappears. Like delay compensation into a Bus track with no output.

I would love to get a thunderbolt interface but when u spend your life savings and mortgage your house to buy a computer it leaves you a flat earth. So to speak 😎.

They want $300 for the TB3 OWC. More ouch.
