Need help selling Digi 003

Hello I am trying to sell my Digi 003 factory and I just want to clear a few things up, I've looked at related posts but couldn't find all the answers.

Firstly I want to sell the desk with the software it came with but not with the additional ignition pack software, is this aloud?

Secondly when I do sell the product do I have to send the authorizations over to them or do they get them when they fill out the transfer of ownership form and register the product?

Hi, software is not transferable by Avid. You will have to give any serials or ilok licenses when you sell or give the software to another. They will not be able to get a serial or license from Avid.

Only the hardware is transferable. I have a used 003r. I was allowed to transfer the Digi 003r into my name from the previous owner and now am eligible for any upgrade options from Avid regarding the hardware only.

However i was on my own for the software which my 003r did not come with. I had to buy it separately and definitely needed the serial when i got the software.

While i am the registered owner of the 003r, it does not show up in my Avid account.

You don't have to include the Ignition Pack. I don't think it's transferable anyway because it's mostly 3rd party stuff that Avid has no control over anyway.

You also don't have to include your Ilok or the extra Factory plugins that came with it. You can keep using those yourself.


All you need to transfer is the original Protools software that came with it. Include the Activation codes and serial numbers if you have them. When the buyer sends in the transfer of ownership form, I'm pretty sure they will have the activation codes transferred to them. If not, they can contact Avid. They should be able to use the software that came with it.

But don't bother with the other stuff, it's not worth the trouble, and not required.

Just make sure you tell the buyer what they're getting or not getting. I wouldn't even call it the 003 "factory" for that reason. Just advertise it as the 003 Console or Rack (which ever it is) with Protools 8, or 7, or whatever came with it. State in the advertisement that does not include any additional plugins other than what comes standard in Protools.
