Can we please not have another Mac vs. PC thread?

Both will work fine, depending on your own preference. If you like using Macs, get a Mac. If you don't mind building a PC, build a PC. There are plenty of threads already detailing the best ways to do this.

Personally, if I had a Pro Tools HD3 system I'd use Mac.

Another way to view this, that P6T6 i7 Win 7 system is not Avid Audio Qualified but that Mac Pro is Avid Audio Qualified.
