Macbook Pro Performance Question

Well my Powermac G4 Dual 1.25 from '03 finally kicked the bucket. I need to bring in a successor. Unfortunately I don't think a Mac Pro is affordable for me right now. I'm looking into getting a Macbook Pro.

Anybody who's using any Macbook Pro, could you list the model and some information such as track counts, # plug-ins, and any issues you've had. Also, just please let me know how you'd rate your experience.
