Default dead card(s)?

system
pro tools III on a 7100/80
expansion chassis and 2 disk and 8 farms

I had a session that refused to playback certain tracks with plugs on the channels(any plugs, didn't matter which ones I tried)

Digitest reported lots errors!

So I paired down testing 2 cards at a time in the 7100

the only problems I then got was disk i/o failures, both disk i/os but only when used with one particular farm. the farm passed but the disk i/os failed. Is that possible?
when I hooked up a different farm evrything passed again.

so I re-hooked up everything minus the seemingly malfunctioning farm and the session plays fine now.

I'll try throwing in the bad farm again tommorrow to see if it messes thing up again.
the only anomoly is one disk i/o failed digitest after the re-hook up, but things sounded ok.

I hope I ain'tgot a bad card cause my client will want me dead!
what are the procedures for returning cards?
are temperary replacements possible?

any other help and experiences are greatly appreciated

Give Tech support a call for some troubleshooting (650) 842-6699. If your out of warranty you will need to call the ProAccess line (888) 344-4376. If it's a bad card that you will repair the ProAccess charges will be reversed.

Standard repair times average 1 to 2 days upon receipt. Also, for an additional charge, we do have an advance replacement program if you can't afford the down time.

ok I think I got it narrowed down to a bad farm

I got the system to go minus the farm with a full pass across the board on Digitest.

Tommorrow I'll throw in the bad farm to see for sure.

which number do I call for a ra no?

turntable ist

From your date of purchase you have one free year of product warranty and technical support.

If your product is out of warranty and you need extended help to confirm that your product needs an RA then you'll have to call the Pro Access line. If you've already confirmed a RA is necessary you can call the warranty tech support line and a Digidesign Tech will set up the RA for you. Ask for me if you want.

my diagnosis was wrong, Digitest reports failures galore

is it possible that my exp. chassis or my 12 node cable is toast?

I called Pro Access today, still don't know what the problem is for sure,
I thought 2 farms were dead, they both causes problems when tested with one disk i/o.
so I took both out and some noise remained.
plug-in noise and loading zippering sounds.
I think it's the damn 12 node.
anybody got any other ideas?
and this is already on top of the 2 farms @$395 each to repair, ouch!
