Default Open letter to customers

Wow,

Did every see the open letter from Avid (formerly Digidesign!!)

Here I was concerned about the crappy RTAS implementation with my HD system, about MIDI weirdness, about video playback issues, about stupid voice count limitations - but now I see Avid is coming out with a new website.

My worries are over!!

I'm so relieved.

Vince

Exactly. Here I thought maybe we would be getting a response, some words of encouragement that 'someone is on it' over there. Instead, a new website.

The company is much more concerned with rebranding it's image, instead of improving it through the quality of its products.

And did you notice the part that said that the new website would only be available to US customers for the first few months, before anyone overseas will get access? I mean, they don't even have enough people to get the website up and running!

I hope they did mean that international sites wont be updated not that there will be no access to the new US site.

Calm down. They're just reassuring us that everything will be perfectly fine as they roll all their divisions into one new place. (like AIG did.) :)

Happy Holidays!

Yeah, AUC seems really weird? Does that mean that the forum will be focused on M-Audio/Sibelius and etc. all in one Gigantic Forum? I hope not. I kind of like our Digidesign Clique.

I, for one, am glad that they are dropping the name Digidesign. The nickname "Digi" grates my senses like fingernails on a blackboard. I always thought it sounded childish. Thank you for your time.

It's done and there is not much to discuss, but I think it is stupid to drop Digidesign as a well known powerful name in music industry and change it to a name that has VID(EO) in it.
For example in live sound audio guys "hate" lights guys and would never want to be one themselves nor have anything to do with lights I think some would kill themselves if Meyer Sound would change it's name to ALIGH :)
