Default default outputs when a new track is created?

HI
My question is how to set default outputs when creating a new track?
In the i/o page I've set all the entries to c 9 and 10 ( my spdif out of the 96 i/o) (rather than 1 and 2 of my aurora) but when I create a new track it still uses the analog out 1 and 2?
I'm stumped

Maybe post a screen shot of your IO settings Output tab?

here is the url screen shoot...http://tinypic.com/r/qrxe0l/9

Under default output buss it's set to analog 1 and 2, but it won't let me change it to c9 and 10.
thanks

I would drag the grid assignments so that A1-2 is linked to 9&10(and probably just delete the path that is currently linked to that output).

ok. Does that mean a1 and a2 will be spdif out and c9 and c10 will be analog out 1 and 2 of the aurora? (the aurora is the 1st machine).
will I need to set input 1 and 2 out of the Aurora as c9 and c10 as well?

ex. if i/o c9 is selected as an insert, the audio will be routed out analog 1 of the Aurora, to a compressor or eq, then input back to input 1 of the Aurora 1 via c 9?

I will try this but it seems like it would be easier to just default the out put to c9 and c10
thanks

I thought from reading the original post, that you had already tried that and it did not work? I recommend taking the time to learn how to customize the IO to fit your needs. Unless you are constantly importing sessions from other studios, make it all work for you. You can actually start simple and delete all output paths, and create just what you need(and label it as you like).

thanks that's good advice.
Although I find it unusual that I can't set the default output buss to c 9 and c10.

I do remember a bug on this assignment. The solution was(and may still be) quite NON-intuitive. Try to select the 9&10 from the Mono sub-menu(it will still be a stereo output....trust me)
