Default Computer Crash

So I've been Pro Tools relatively trouble free for the past three months. All of a sudden my computer freezes up when I am running both Reason and Pro Tools. I haven't had this problem in the past.
My system:
1.4 Ghz processor
756 Mgs RAM
Pro Tools 6.1
Reason trial version
I tried a local disk defrag and file compression, but no relief.
Do I need more RAM?
Thanks for any and all feedback.
