Crossgrade Question (New iLok owner)

Hey guys,

I have Pro Tools 7.4 and have never needed an iLok key.

I found a student Pro Tools 9 crossgrade disc with new iLok for £125 so I'm going to buy it.

I've read on these forums (using a search) that to crossgrade you need to have Pro Tools LE and some hardware. . .I have both these BUT I've never had an iLok so im wondering how the new Pro Tools 9 will realise I have 7.4. . .does it search for it on my Hard drive before installing?

Do I need to insert my iLok. . open Pro Tools 7.4 and send a license key to the iLok?

To cross grade , you will need the serial number of the hardware that you use (mbox,etc) to register PT9. No ilok is needed.

the iLok comes after you get the license for 9

And it can't be an original mbox or an 001.

It needs to be an MBox 2 or 002 minimum.
