The PT10 licence is surrendered and replaced with a 'bundle' of two licences, one for PT10 and one for PT11. The point of this is that the two licences are tied together, you can't separate them.

If the PT10 licence was just left there and a PT11 licence was provided additionally, it would then be possible to put the two licences on different iLoks and run them on different computers at the same time. That's not what Avid wants when you've only purchased one instance of Pro Tools.

Benoni -

May I ask, as a 11R owner and PT 11 upgrader, what is your computer set up?

NOW I'M UP SHEET CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE -

"If you choose to use Pro Tools 11 and 10 on the same system, you will need to update to Pro Tools 10.3.6 or higher for coinstallation with Pro Tools 11"

I had PT10 but never upgraded to 10.3 and now I've surrendered PT10 and can't upgrade it. That means that I will not have PT10 with PT11. Gawd, I hope my old plugins will be in PT11.........

Paid for Fedex Priority Overnight this last Thursday. Now it won't be here till this next Tuesday. That's 6 days. Ugh.

So far, the only thing that has happened flawlessly is when I bought PT 11 and the iLok2. Taking my money, it seems, there's neva any problem. Err ting else has been a nightmare.....but then again, I knew that before jumping in....,.
