Default PTHD11.3 Yosemite stability?

Any experiences with regards to 11.3 and Yosemite stability?

Hey Boe,

It's good to see some positive replies for you. As you probably know, the folks who have good results don't post nearly as much as those who have trouble. I was one of the unfortunate ones who spent hours and days trying to stop a 9173 error. It was an absolutely frustrating experience for me. I am now in the camp that is just waiting for the next release to hopefully clear up issues that we feel are unfixable as consumers. As always, the best advice includes a rock solid backup and possibly trying to install it on dedicated equipment that is up to Avid specs. If you give it a try, let us know how it works out.

When working with Audio only it's stable.
If VIs get involved it crashes often here.

+1 here, though that's not a yosemite thing, as I'm still on montain lion and have the same problems, including the 9173 errors mentioned.

Correct. The main reason for upgrading to Yosemite on my side was the hope, that the crashes may be less on Yosemite ... but this did not happen unfortunately

If I recall correct, PT got worse somewhen while it was 11.1.x or 11.2x regarding VIs and stability.

Of course I still have backups of old systems - but at the moment I prefer to give Logic 10.1 a try as they improved it a lot.
This seams to me the best solution - at least while heavily arranging.

Agreed - same here with something else - PT11.3.0 and Yosemite is a cpu hog in mixed audio/vi sessions. I have one that when run in PT11.3.0 and Mavericks 10.9.5 it idles at +/- 14 % cpu usage as shown in PT and maxes at about 20% but in Yosemite idles at 40%+ and maxes at at 97-98% and PT outright freezes and has to be force quit from the Dock. And I've done the proper optimizations in Yosemite and a clean install on a clean system drive partition.

So between that and the problems with NI hardware dependent software not allowing PT sessions with something like Guitar Rig 5 or Komplete Kontrol to load up and run I'm back to OSX 10.9.5 or OSX 10.8.5

Haven't had a single crash on 11.3+Yosemite (aside from the mess of trying to get it all properly installed in the first place, ha!).

Now that i've said that I fully expect it to explode.
