Default How to tell firmware level?

I apologize if this is a spurious thread, but given all the stuff about firmware levels I just ran Digitest on my set up (2x2 2.66Ghz Mac Pro running Lion and PT 10 HD Native). It all reported fine but it did not tell me the firmware level in the card. How do you tell? If Digitest runs fen - am I ok?

There is no way to tell.

If you are running Pro Tools HD 10 the Native card firmware should be 1.03, 1.02 for Pro Tools 9.0.4 and 1.01 for Pro Tools 9.0.3. I believe. Pro Tools HD 9.0.5 runs 1.03 firmware too.

That's not what ianmiller is asking. There is currently no resource to examine a card & tell what firmware is on it.

Yes I'm well aware of that. Now in accordance with the information I provided the original poster can then determine what firmware he is running. Each Pro Tools revision listed requires either a FPGA firmware upgrade or downgrade.

Your assumption is incorrect. Lower versions of ProTools will run on the latest native firmware so just cause 9.0.3 runs doesn't mean the card has 1.01 firmware.

I've asked the OP question else where and looks like here's the place to find out. On a HDN, I am running PT9 HD 9.03 on OS 10.6.7 and getting PT10. From my understanding, I should update the HND firmware while still on OS 10.6.7, then up grade to OS 10.6.8 and PT10 HD?

If you stay on 10.6.7 you'll have to update your PT HD to 9.0.5 in order to get the firmware update. Or you can use this which Avid finally released a few days ago:

No running Pro Tools 9.0.3 requires a downgrade of the FPGA firmware.

Where are you getting this information? The docs from the link above imply otherwise and firmware is typically backward compatible.
