Default There is no real free trial?

May be here is not the place to write this however it is the only one I found, I was trying to use this program with its trial version, but I found out that even though there is a 30 day trial, in order to use it, it is needed to buy an "ilock", so I concluded there is no true free trial version of this, i would be delighted if someone can prove me wrong.

Given the number of companies that use iLok, chalk it up as a $40 expense you need to do serious music making on your computer. If you aren't willing to invest any cash, then skip Pro Tools and use Reaper or Garage Band

It's worse than that. I don't think there is a free trial of Pro Tools 12, so you have to pay and subscribe to trial that. And uh given how bad current Pro Tools 12 releases are that may be a wise decision on Avid's part to not let people try before buying/subscribing.

If you do not need Pro Tools I would recommend going with any number of other good and much more stable DAWs now. If Avid pulls off a magic 12.5.1 release soon and fixes many of the problems folks are having with current 12.x releases then come back and give it a try later. Just watch the posts here for reports on 12.5.1....

Hopefully you do understand Pro Tools First is not the same as fully functional Pro Tool 12. Can't import existing sessions, can't save/share local sessions, cant' use any third party plugins that users may own already, etc. if somebody wants to trial that crippled version sure they can do so for "free". Otherwise nope **** out of luck...

Or Digital Performer - 30 day completely free fully functional trial and you can use all your plugins. No iLok used even for the pay version. Runs on both OSX and Windows.
