Pro tools 10.0.1/Native Instruments Kontakt 5.0.2
Pro tools 10.0.1/Native Instruments Kontakt 5.0.2 an ongoing battle. Talk about an inspiration destroyer. I get an idea to compose jump in to have fun & error after error. These two just dont get along am I the only one with this problem hope pro tools 11 64bit & kontakt 5 aax fixes this I cant take it anymore. Any ideas on settings to help the old panic ram problem i know many people have had it on versions of tools & kontakt. Havent they fixed this by now seriously. In a midi session only running one instrument track with kontakt 5 it still happens. Its my favourite sampler but im ready to give it away.

Re: Pro tools 10.0.1/Native Instruments Kontakt 5.0.2
Did not notice a whole slough of information about your system build. I have PT10HD and Kontakt 5.xx on a 2006 vintage dual Opteron 2.4GHz board with 10GB running under Win7 SP1 64 bit running just fine.
I might add that the default presets for most of the Kontakt orchestral sounds are configured with an "arena" type reverb that will suck up all your CPU power. Try changing the individual sounds (I am mostly using the Vienna Symphonic samples that ship with Kontakt) to use either "room" or "cab" reverbs to alleviate some your issues.

Re: Pro tools 10.0.1/Native Instruments Kontakt 5.0.2
I am running a PT10 HD Native (still version 10.0) on a MACPro8Core2.4 with 32GBRAM.
My NI stuff includes Komplete8, LA Strings and Vintage D Piano, also the additional Abbey Road 80 Drummer. I had a lot of issues in the beginning and still think that Kontakt 5.02 is not running as it supposed to be under PT10, but... here is what I did, also in recommendation to NI: -Run Protools on only 1 or 2 Processors -Give the rest (in my case 14) to Kontakt5 under settings -Activate the Memory Server in Kontakt5 under settings Everything runs ok except the Abbey Road 80 Drums - they are simply too much, even in this configuration the CPU clips ( and this with 32GB on an 8core machine...!!!) Same result by the way on my MacBook Pro 2.4 with 8GB RAM and ProTools 10.0.1. So, this me pretty much indicates to me that Kontakt 5.02 is simply not where it should be yet. But at least I can work with Komplete8 and most of my additional Kontakt Instruments now. Hope that helps. |
