Good point on those clips. Its a good idea to dial in the SD mixer settings and save it as a plugin preset. I have 3 versions for each preset. One with all assigned to a single stereo out(for building a song/performance), another with all the sounds spilled out over several tracks for recording the audio(or using AUX tracks) and the third version has no brass(for fast loading when the drummer brings real cymbals and hat).

I can't remember how to convert midi tracks to audio tracks. How do you do that? I have 8 midi tracks that are all bussed to an instrument track with SD2. What would be the best way to convert them to audio?

Set the output of each instrument track to a stereo bus. Create a stereo audio track(for each instrument) and set its input to the same bus and record it. Once you are dine, you can choose Hide and Make Inactive on those instrument and midi tracks. BTW, you are not being efficient using midi AND instrument tracks as all can be done on an instrument track alone.
