Pro Tools as SMPTE generator

Hello, is there any way to generate SMPTE from Pro Tools? Can I record perhaps SMPTE as an audio track?

Reaper is free to try. It has a SMPTE file generator.

You could export several files from that site back to back, then stitch them together and consolidate.

Hi Meads, what means "back to back"? If I stitch two sampte audio regions from 1 to 90 mins, I think the sampte signal will "return" to zero after 00:89:59:24, instead 00:90:00:00. (25fps). Is it right?

You can enter the start TC. So e.g.:

1st file: 01:00:00:00
2nd file: 02:30:00:01
3rd file: 04:00:00:02

etc.

Then import them to PT, stitch them and consolidate. That will give you a TC file ranging from 01:00:00:00 to 05:30:00:03 in that case.

The example you gave is not how TC works. There's no 90 minutes.

You can start wherever you like.
Just mind that there's nothing above "59" regarding hours, minutes and seconds. After that it nulls to the next hour or minute.
