What\'s the quickest way to audition looped takes?
Any ideas?
Seems, there's no key command to forward/back to the next take, just tedious right mouse clicking pull down menu action...or not? Help is much appreciated! PTHD3 7.4 |

Re: What\'s the quickest way to audition looped takes?
Looped recording is so much better in Nuendo. You get each cycle vertically stacked on top of each other, and you can auditon each one, edit, take the best part from each take and consolidate everything to a single "event" - as they are called in Nuendo. I wish Digidesign would finally add this feature.

Re: What\'s the quickest way to audition looped takes?
I'd suggest duplicating the vocal track as many times as needed, and delete the audio on the duplicate(s). Drag all takes (except the last) into those tracks and mute/unmute to hear the different takes.
I always route the outputs of vocal tracks to their own auxes, so duplicating a vocal track would automatically route the duplicates to the same aux. This method works well for me, but you might not like it. Edit: The added bonus with this is that all takes are visible and ready for comping.

What's wrong in pointing out how Pro Tools can get better? I'm pretty sure there is no decent way of handling alternate takes in Pro Tools, and I just wish to present a better way of doing this. No need to be rude.
