Default Do you guys think this is a good deal

vaio computer

Do you guys think this would be strong enough to run a digi001, with a motor mix and lots of waves plug-ins. Im switching over from a mac maybe and trying to figure out what pc to buy.

Thanks

get an AMD Athlon computer. they perform better with PT and they are also cheaper. this coming from someone who owns an Intel P4 comp.

...but even that computer you mention is still a whole lot faster than any mac in terms of raw processing power.

true.

mm, the best way.

if you absolutely insist on buying a desktop that is pre-built, maybe dell?
also, there's Carillon and MusicXPC. both make specialized music computers for PT (and are officially Digi approved).

I switched from Mac in March, built a 2GHz Athlon, haven't had any serious trouble, 5x the processing power of the 800MHz G4 I sold.

Thanks,
Rusty
