Computer Crashes Everytime I Open ProTools

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or if anyone knows what might be going on with my system. Everytime I open ProTools it begins to load and thenmy computer crashes. I'm lucky if I get to the screen where I can choose which session to open. I will list my system information below and hopefully that is most of what you will need to help me (I don't know what any of those things really mean!). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Toshiba Satellite
Mobile Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.33GHz
3.33GHz, 896 MB of RAM
Windows XP Home Edition
ProTools LE 6.4 w/MBox

Make sure you have done the 6.4cs9 program update and 6.4cs6 plugin update and then Update your PACE interlok drivers.

I did all you suggested and it only got me a little further into the session before it crashed again.

I have a newbie question for you guys as well- How do you look up ALL of your system's information on a Windows? I have seen people list many more things than I know how to find so if someone could help me with that as well... thank you!!

What does windows say caused the crash when you reboot your computer, is it a hardware problem. maybe your video card has gone bad or something like that, it happened to me once before.

Just in case anyone else runs into this problem...I seem to have fixed this by running the Firmware Updater. Hopefully this gets rid of my problem long term. Only time will tell! Thanks for the help everyone

what is firmware?????? im having the same exact problem but when i downloaded those other updates that was mentioned earlier in this thread it changed nothing....help

Well if you have a windows then you would maybe find it like this:

Start > My Computer > Crive (or whichever drive your ProTools is on) > Program Files > Digidesign > ProTools > ProTools Utilities > MBox Firmware Updater.

Once you get to that spot just run the updater and that seemed to help me. Hopefully it will work the same for you. Good luck!
