I've seen this discussed in a few threads as a side issue but thought it may be worth having it's own thread to try to get a straight answer

What is the cost of a 7.4 - 8 upgrade from digidesign, at the momentI can only see "buy 7.4 with a free upgrade" as an option, what about existing 7.4 customers, it can't be more cost effective to buy 7.4 again and then take the free upgrade ??? What is digidesigns plan for this.

le upgrade will be 150.00 and hd upgrade will be 250.00 it has been discussed on a couple threads around here, dont have time to link you to one at the moment.

i think 1 thread in the le pc forum is called "100 % upgrade cost" or something like that.

So nothing yet on Protools MPowered. Not one word on pricing. After all is it not Protools too? These situations can be very interesting and can influence serious decision making.

believe m powered is the same as le, 150.00

Not exactly, the upgrade is the same price no matter which version you're upgrading from, it's just that those purchasing an upgrade to 7.4 now (for the higher Pro Tools 8 upgrade price) will get the update for 'free'.

Upgrade info for M-Powered has been available on the same page as LE and HD since we announced Pro Tools 8:
