Eliminating Tape Hiss
Hi All,
I recently imported some old four track cassette work into Pro Tools and have an issue with tape hiss. I don't have much in terms of aftermarket plug ins. Can anyone recommend an 'included' plug in that comes with PT....or a free plug in...that you've found is good for knocking down tape hiss but leaves some high end to work with? Any help appreciated, J.D |

Re: Eliminating Tape Hiss
Can't think of anything besides an eq in the "included" plug-ins. Perhaps just try a demo of some noise reduction software and use it for this project. Most plug-ins have a ten-day or two week demo.

Re: Eliminating Tape Hiss
Use one of the included EQ's (I think it's EQ III) and you can roll off the highs around 18k but of course it also affects the hi-end of the music. Always a trade-off!!!!!
