Default making my fantom the master and pt le 7.4 the slave.

I want to program all my drums on the fantom and use pro tools for my vst's. I see that producers like danja and polow da don use there mpc's to program drums and use cubase for the vst's. I want to dot he same thing in pt le 7.4.

Actually every time i try to record a track in pt with a vst and press play it plays back the midi notes that i've recorded in my fantom.
