Re: Offline bounce !!
No, it does not need a petition. We are already well aware of the demand for this and it's high on our feature list.

Re: OK, but seriously, OFFLINE BOUNCE!
It's seriously time for ProTools Native. Ditch the on-card processing. Give us a PCIe card (charge around a grand for it) that will connect to HD interfaces - no processing on it, just a couple of HD ports. Let our CPUs handle the processing. With quad-core computers as cheap as they are now, and the ready availability of 8-core computers for those willing to pay for them, there's just no real reason to have DSP cards these days, generally speaking.
You can set it up just like the HD cards - a Native|1 with a single PCIe card will support up to 32 channels of I/O. Adding another card will get you a Native|2 system with an additional 32 channels. Unlimited track count - just whatever the computer can handle. RTAS plugins. That way you're still using Digidesign hardware and interfaces, but you're suddenly providing a great cost-effective alternative to the now-outdated HD DSP cards without requiring studios to buy all new hardware. And you'd sell a TON of these to home studio guys. Not the barebones hobbyists, maybe, but the weekend warriors who spend as much time in their home studios as they do at their regular jobs. Heck, I'd buy one for sure. I'd love to have 32 or more channels of I/O available - it would completely change the way I mix. And I'd have to buy more hardware to support that additional I/O, hint hint.
