Thinking about Selling Protools

I guess this is where i post this but anyways, i am going to sell my protools 12. How do i do this? I've never sold software before. I know i give them the iLok but what else i do i have to do before i sell it?

Depends what version. As far as I know, PT12 cannot be transferred yet.

If you're selling 10/11, then I believe you need to fill out a transfer of ownership form from Avid, and then pay iLok a $25 transfer fee. When someone buys the license from you, you transfer your Pro Tools license to their account.

Well, It's actually protools 11 but can be upgraded to 12 which is what i did. Where do i get this transfer form?

mesaone already told you where to get the transfer form from.

BUT - you may have a problem if you're doing what I think you want to do. Are you trying to sell JUST the PT12 license asset separate from PT11? Can't be done. I'm confused on that as I am with your statement that 'it's actually PT11 but can be upgraded to PT12 which is what I did'. Did you get the upgrade to PT12? If so that also comes with the one year support plan but you can't as of now sell/transfer PT that has a support plan to another person.

There is currently no transfer available for Pro Tools licenses with a support plan. You can check for yourself in your iLok Manager. Choose your License. Click Show Details, click the Details Tab, and you will see Transfers are not allowed.

This is also stated in the Transfer Of Ownership form.

*Please note that Pro Tools software products that have been upgraded to the newer 2015 support plans and newer Pro Tools products which include 2015 support plans are not currently available for transfer.

Of course you could give the person your iLok, iLok Account, and Avid Account, but that's fraught with security issues IMHO.

Will transfers be available in the future? I have no idea.

I don't have a support plan. I am just want to sell my Protools with the eleven rack and ground control.

Still confused. Did you just buy the 11R with PT which would get you a free upgrade to PT12 or have you had PT11 for a while and then buy the upgrade to PT12? If the latter you have a support plan and can't at this time sell/transfer PT12. What is the EXACT license asset that is on your iLok2?

And again you can't split off PT12 from the combined license asset; it's the whole nut or nothing.

I bought the 11R with Protools and this is on my ilok

That is a bundled PT license which can Not be sold off as parts. You can only sell the whole thing if it says transfer allowed when you right click on the license and get info. Sorry.
