Default Mac Mini - Video/Graphics Chip/Card

Just curious . . .

Regardless of the options (iMac, Macbook, etc.), will a new, maxed-out Mac Mini perform poorly with PT LE 7.3 (Mbox 2 Pro) b/c of it's limited video memory/sharing?

I'd really like to switch to Apple, but 1.) I don't want a laptop/notebook, 2.) the Mac Pro is out of my budget, and 3.) I already have a monitor, trackball, and keyboard setup that I prefer (as well as limited desk space).

Thanks,

rockrev

I have a friend running PTLE 7.1 on his Mini and has had great results.

It's not like PT has a bunch of super hi-res 3D animations going on, so the graphics chip in the Mini shouldn't be a problem.

The most important things would be max RAM and a good external FW drive.

I have a Mac Mini 1.83 Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM and it is running 7.2 just fine. I ran some tests recording 18 tracks simultanious and it didn't have any issues.

yeah i have a 1.83ghz intel duo core mini with 1gb ram.

even recording to internal drive (i dont do tons of pro tools work just college stuff when needed) it runs fast. i handle lots of audio tracks. i think its a very good compromise of money and power.
